As blogging and in particular blogging for profit becomes ever more popular amongst online entrepreneurs, we’re seeing new tools developed to assist in this process being released, what seems like every week.

In this post I’m going to talk about one such tool, Firepow Blogging Software,because I believe it might just be a cut above the rest in terms of it’s flexibility of use, and overall effectiveness in accomplishing the three primary aims of blogging – creating a blog, managing it or maintaining it, and getting traffic to it.

It was hard to know where to start with this post because there are so many individual features of this software that could be mentioned.

To give you a brief overview of how it works…

Firepow is based on the Wordpres platform, and allows a user to install a fully customized and functioning wordpress blog with a few clicks of the mouse.

If you’ve used WordPress before, you’ll know that one of the best things about it is it’s ability to be enhanced by third party plugins. You’ll also know that it’s not hard to get LOST in all the plugins and potential feature additions that CAN be made.

The first thing great about Firepow from my point of view is that they have done the plugin work for you. The best 50 or so plugins from around the web have been programmed into the software so as to be automatically installed when your blog is.

That’s a good feature, but it’s even better when you consider that while these plugins normally require manual fiddling to get installed, tweaks made to your theme CSS code and more – the software actually does that part for you too – so you click the button, and you have the function of that plugin added – VERY time saving!

The “Create” part of the process is also helped by the ability to create your own custom wordpress theme completely from scratch, with more functionality than we’ve seen from free theme generators EVER before – not to mention the ability to create your own categories from scratch, automatically create the perfect permalink
structure for SEO, and more.

Before even getting into the WordPress panel of the site Firepow creates you’ve also got a site management tab where all your blogs can be managed from one place, an SEO tracking tool to monitor the search rankings of all your sites, and a task manager
that tells you what needs to be done to maintain your blog/s and when.

I dare say though that the best things happen once you’re actually IN the blog.

Here you have crazy abilities to make your post content better, easily being able to add relevant images, videos, or trackbacks (automatically building backlinks to your site) to your posts… and even that’s leaving alot out.

OR the crazy abilities to monitor your blogs success, like being able to split test the results of different posts, monitor your traffic through in depth reporting (utilizing Google analytics), monitoring your search spider activity, the popularity of your posts, the terms people are searching on your site, and more still.

I feel like I’m getting too salesy in this post to you but I can assure even with everything you’ve read here, I haven’t even really touched the surface of what’s going on inside this thing called Firepow – heck we didn’t even get to the promotional tools.

My story starts some years ago when I discovered eBay, this site opened my eyes to the huge money making potential of the internet, here was a global marketplace that anybody could enter with minimal upfront costs.

I built a niche business and made a good second income on eBay but I developed a burning ambition to use the internet to earn all of my income and in doing so free myself from the 9-5 corporate jungle I had inhabited since I left school.

In the course of my eBay research I came across John Thornhill and began to follow his ideas.

In January 2008 John launched his first coaching course and this proved to be a turning point in my online ventures.

Through John’s easy to follow tutorial videos I created my first eBook www.printsmakeprofits.com which is a step by step guide to my eBay niche business methods. I built a blog at www.stuart-turnbull.com to record my progress and I began building my own subscriber list, this was a major (and steep!) learning curve for me as my tech skills were minimal so I relied heavily on John’s support.

Prints Make Profits proved to be a huge success and when John launched his Masterclass program I was keen to take my fledgling internet marketing business to the next level using John’s tried and tested methods.

Writing this case study has prompted me to look back and assess my progress. Before John’s coaching I knew nothing about domains and hosting, I didn’t know what an autoresponder was I had no idea how to create and market information products or how to drive targeted traffic, in short I was a complete internet marketing beginner.

As an indication of how far I have progressed under John’s guidance, before I sat down to write this case study I was working on coaching materials for my own students, yes, I’m now passing on my knowledge to my own subscribers!

So, as you can imagine my life is very different now to what it was like. I feel like I have completed my internet marketing apprenticeship and I now have the right tools and a road map to realise all of my ambitions.

John Thornhill’s coaching and Masterclass programs have provided me with these tools and more importantly John’s personal advice, guidance and assistance have given me the belief and confidence to realise my online potential.

Where do I start With John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass Programme? A better question would probably be: Where was I before John’s Masterclass programme?

It was around 2 years ago in 2007 that I started my money making adventures online and after doing some dabbling on eBay without any real success I tried my hand at the Internet marketing game. Unfortunately after trying various products and different opportunities for the first year the sad fact was that I wasn’t actually making any kind of real money and I realised that without the rights skills and knowledge it was very unlikely that I was ever going to make any real money online.

I realised I needed a mentor to show me the way. Someone who had been and done it all before so I searched google and that’s when John’s name popped up. I hadn’t heard of John before so I checked out his blog and was eventually led to his marketing masterclass programme. He was offering to mentor me and a group of students for 36 weeks solid and gave the guarantee tat is we worked hard and followed his course through to the end that we would have our very own business set up and our very own product for sale online by the end.

Needless to say I didn’t hesitate as this sounded like the very programme I had been looking for to finally get my online dream off the ground. Each week John would send me and the other students a set of videos that clearly explained the steps we needed to take and what order we needed to take them. We simply had to watch, copy and implement, which is the exact way all mentoring should be done!

Before I enrolled in John’s Masterclass I had no idea of how to set up a blog and the importance it can play in building you online presence, not to mention your business. I had no idea how to set up a Google AdSense campaign, how to build a profitable mailing list or how to research a niche in the correct way.

Before I enrolled in John’s Masterclass, I had never even heard of HTML, back- linking or even JV proposals. I was missing so many key elements and skills that were required to make me a success at online marketing.

In the 36 weeks that I was enrolled to John’s Masterclass, I leant how to:

· Build a blog where I can interact with my customers and build a name for myself

· Set up a Google AdSense campaign that makes me money from advertising on my blog

· Build a mailing list using opt-in forms and squeeze pages

I am sure that without this course I would now be another statistic of those who did not make it online and would not be on the great position that I am in now- working from home doing the job that I love. In 36 weeks I have gone from a complete beginner to being a confident Internet marketer with my very own product for sale online and on ClickBank.

Review of John Thornhills Masterclass

Are the following email titles familiar? Newbie makes $1,000 000 in less than an hour! Build a list of millions in a day. Millionaire gives you the secret to his success, copy my plan and retire in 30 days.

Ok I may be exaggerating (slightly) but how often have you been taken in by hype like this. Well I confess that I have more than once. I bought a “millionaire system” which came with the product, a ready made website, email support all of which was described as ready to go, so easy a child could do it.

Guess what I did not have a clue where to start and amazingly this was not explained. To cut a long story short I still have the product, there was no email support; I only got a reply when the seller wanted to sell me another of their products. Lots of us have bought a pup but in this case I seem to have got a full litter.

It was therefore with some trepidation that I signed up in February 2009 to the John Thornhill Masterclass. Although I was still very apprehensive I had known of John for several years I had bought some of his products through his eBay shop. I have been on his mailing list for several years and he had always delivered an amazing amount of free content and advice. John has an enviable reputation as a good honest guy.

So what was my experience of the Masterclass program? Well needless to say it was completely different from the previous system I had bought. Every week we were taken step by step each week through the process of buying a domain name, setting up a hosting package, and starting a blog, all the things that had been so mysterious to me were now revealed in a series of detailed videos delivered each week. So within 2 weeks I had my own presence on the web at:

There was extensive guidance and advice on choosing a niche for my product; we were guide through this process with a series of exercises to help clarify our thinking. Over the weeks we were shown how to construct and edit web pages, the use of article marketing to promote the product.

My product was selling on eBay, Amazon and beyond, as an eBay PowerSeller, I wanted to teach my system to others so I created Plugin Auction Profits a three module system that takes you from eBay to e-commerce in 3 easy steps. With the help of Johns video instruction I recorded 19 videos, and an Audio interview with a PowerSeller. I also produced a ride along workbook and a sourcing directory. In short a complete course on setting up your eBay and Amazon business.

With this amount of content I fell well behind in the program, but the value of the support materials is that you can work at your own pace; there was no pressure from John to keep up with the pack. Support was only an email away but the instructions were so clear that I only used the support system twice during the program. Johns support manager answered all my questions often within hours. A completely different experience from my “millionaire system” experience.

Having completed my first product, I am now part way though my second product, thanks to John’s tuition I am confident that I can “rinse and repeat” as the phrase goes. I have my own mailing list and send a weekly newsletter to all my subscribers. And now I know what I can do to sell the “millionaire system” product thanks to John I now know what to do.

The best investment you can make is the investment you make in yourself, the most important part of this is to find the right mentor, John Thornhill is that mentor.

As with many people visualizing a successful Internet business, I was reading everything that came my way, emails to my inbox, numerous sales pages. There is no doubt that I was on information overload! But the one thing I wasn’t doing the one thing that was missing was the most important element to my success. That element was ACTION!

It is not surprising to me that the word ACTION is actually contained and in fact is the last word within ‘Law of AttrACTION’ Until we take action in life no matter what our dreams are, nothing happens. Action is what completes the Law.

For two years I played around with the idea of pursuing Internet marketing. During that time I received notice about many coaching courses some charging figures as high as $10,000. These were simply out of my reach and I thought I would never get it! Then one day I received notice about John’s course. The first thing I noticed was how reasonable the course was in comparison to similar courses being offered. So, I did my homework. I studied John Thornhill, his blog and his reputation. I could not find one negative thing about this man or his coaching course, so I finally took the plunge and signed up for John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass. My history of trials and errors in the search for Internet success and freedom started some five years ago back in 2005, I had just had my fill of being the proverbial employee as most have just like you I dare say?

It all started when I searched Google for a small business plan that would enable me to work from home, l wanted freedom, and ownership of my own destiny?

I would buy business blueprint products time and time again that would all promise me “easy overnight success and wealth”, (yeah right) let me tell you right now there is no such thing, there is no magic pill PERIOD!

These programs where unrealistic to say the least, and I would constantly fall flat on my face unsuccessful and disheartened, feeling trapped I started to believe there was no hope, it was then I started searching for ways to start and grow a business on eBay but didn`t no where to start, I came across a young guy who was very successful at selling physical niche products and I spent around £535 for a twelve DVD course on how to do this, now to be fair this guys methods work 100% but redundancy came along and I couldn`t afford to buy all the stock to sell, little did I know though that what I learned from that course would kind of be the preparation for the success to follow!

You see all the heartache and stress I went through was a blessing in disguise, because I had learned far more than I realized and more importantly it created the right Mindset I needed to stay in the game!

With this attitude I sat back and thought long and hard until I realized that I had to find a way to start a very low cost business on the Internet that wouldn`t require large cash investments for buying stock in to sell, but how could I possibly achieve this, then it hit me I knew I had to look for a MENTOR someone who had definitively reached the lighthouse and avoided the rocks of failure, someone who knew what it takes from the offset to be an online success and presence and who runs a business with very low costs in overheads?

By this time I had reached 2009, it was late January and once again I was searching for my meal ticket to success in the form of a mentor, whilst looking through the search results the word “masterclass” caught my eye so I instinctively clicked on the website link, and on the page before me was a pitch page hosting the title “John Thornhills Marketing Masterclass” it was a pre-sell launch to recruit students to his course , and also on the page was an home made video of John driving to his home talking about his past and finding success with his business model and how the viewer can do the same, straight away I just knew this was the ticket to ride, I can`t explain it I just knew somehow I could relate to John?

John had all the airs about him of being forthright, honest and a dead cert as a MENTOR, but just as important I had noticed straight away that the overhead cost to this business was virtually zero, well that was the catalyst to me joining up his system just seemed so uncomplicated and straightforward I just had to be a part of it !

Now the course was scheduled for 36 weeks but by the end of it it ran into something like 42 weeks,and for the first time it was a pleasure to partake in studying a business model, the course was laid out week to week in easy to follow step by step video tutorials complimented with an introductory PDF, a fantastic format, John gives his students tasks to be completed over the week like I said via his videos, and the course was structured in 6 phases, and believe me YOU do see your business starting to take shape as you complete them!

Put it this way before John’s Masterclass, I didn’t`t know what a domain name was, I didn`t know much about hosting a website, I didn’t`t know about how to build a customer database, hell what’s a blog I didn’t`t have one a successful blog, but I do now www.john-edwards-blog.com, and I can do all these tasks and a great deal more, but the most important ingredient that John Thornhill taught me which was so vital to the success of my online business, and that was how to create my very own information product and guess what! There is so much more to John’s Masterclass, like traffic generation that is the lifeblood to your website’s, this also is so vitally important for success of your business you need buyers and John has taught me how to get them with different methods, and all of these buyers come *free*!

So there you have it, John Thornhill was the mentor I was looking for, he gave me the knowledge I needed to create a blog, the knowledge to create a product of my own, the knowledge to create my own sales page, a growing customer base for life, and everything he knows on driving hordes of buyers to your website’s, and guess what all you need to do then is repeat the whole process time and time again and grow your business, like I am doing right now. I have plans in place for this year I could only have dreamed of just one year ago, and I know the future holds great success for me!

Well where do I begin! My name is Jacinta and I have been a student of John Thornhill’s for the last 18 months. My story is probably like most, however maybe a little different. I am from Australia. I am in my very late thirties and a stay at home mum learning how to create a business online while my 2 year old sleeps. (Well she is nearly 3 now!)

For many years during my early adult life I worked in many different jobs, studied different certificates, I even owned a couple of small businesses (lost a lot of money too!) I was never really one to stick at things, I would get bored too easily, not only that I really didn’t like being bossed around and told what to do just to earn some money. Life had its ups and it had its downs however everything changed when I fell pregnant with my child.

During my pregnancy I had to give up work due to gestational diabetes. I had no other income coming in so I decided to dabble in eBay. I had been teaching spray tanning at the time at a local beauty college and figured I could sell the machines and how to kits on eBay. This did work for a while except when I was 9 months pregnant trying to carry large boxes into the post office!

After my baby was born, I knew I wanted to create a business from home so I could be there for my child and earn an income at the same time. I didn’t know where to begin. In answer to my questions I received an email promoting a seminar called “World Internet Summit” I was curious, however with my little one only 6 weeks old at the time I knew I couldn’t go so I sent my father in my place.

My father took heaps of notes and came home very excited telling me a business online was the way to go. I was excited and curious all at the same time. For the next 12 months I researched and researched, bought product after product, got scammed a couple of times by people selling me junk. I must have wasted thousands and thousands of dollars. I was an internet marketers dream! All this time I was still trying to sell on eBay, however my market was getting saturated and it was becoming very hard to make a profit in my niche.

Everything shifted for me in April 2008. I was sitting at a hospital with my daughter when she was diagnosed with a condition that may have needed surgery. (She is fine now and all is well). I was in shock for a few days. My daughter had just turned 1, I had no money, no job, I don’t own a house and nor do I own a car. I took a big long look in the mirror, I cried for a couple of days and knew I had to make a change. I had to do something but I had no idea where to begin.

A couple of days later, yes the world works in mysterious ways, I was contacted by a lady who had a website dedicated to spray tanning. She asked me if she could promote my training manual from her site. I said fantastic and how do I do that? She told me I needed to create my own website and set up an affiliate program. I said OK how do I do that! She told me I had to learn how or get someone to do it for me.

Hmmmmm……No money to pay someone so second choice, I had to learn how! I started reading some of the stuff I had bought, but I ended up with information overload and completely confused. I knew I had to be taught how, but by whom?

One of the products I had bought was John Thornhill’s “90 Day PowerSeller”. I decided to have a read. Something clicked when I started to read John’s book. I liked his style of writing, I liked his honest truth. Being an Aussie we like straight up honest people who will tell you how it is and John is exactly that! This was June 2008. After reading the book I knew I wanted to learn from John and would you believe I received an email telling me about a coaching program John was doing starting the first week of July.

They say when the student is ready the teacher will appear……………..

I remember the 3^rd of July 2008 very well. I was sitting up a 4 am in the morning, my eyes hanging out of my head from lack of sleep, but I knew I had to get a position in the training. It was a good thing I did stay up as the coaching program sold out in a matter of hours! I was lucky. I got in! I spent what little money I had and signed up for the 16 week coaching program. This was my beginning, however truthfully I only managed to complete half of that program, life got in the way and I only had very little time. I kept making excuses.

Christmas 2008 was difficult for me, we did not have a lot of money and I was only able to give my daughter a couple of gifts, and once again I knew I needed to kick my butt into gear. In January 2009 John was promoting his new program Marketing Masterclass. This was going to be a 36 week program. After the experience I had with the 16 week course I knew I wanted to be apart of this one so once again I was up early emailing John trying to get a position.

Again I got on, but this time things were different. I was determined, I was focused, and I knew my back was against the wall. I want a future for my daughter. I want to be able to buy a house one day and maybe even a new car, but most of all I want to be able to provide for my child as a parent should.

From the first week of February 2009 I became a very good little student. I studied hard, did most of my exercises and followed John’s program. Some weeks were easy and some weeks were hard. Sometimes I fell behind in the program and other weeks I caught up. I kept at it even if I could only do a couple of hours or even one hour per week. I kept the momentum going and never gave up. This time I did not let the excuses of life get in my way. I had many an insomnia night, and when I wanted to give up I would take one look at my sleeping daughter and get back to it again!

My perseverance paid off. I now know how to build a website, create a blog, and create a product, set up an affiliate program, drive traffic, market and so much more! Thanks to John’s Masterclass program I now have the tools to create a future for my daughter.

John is like the teacher that teaches you how to fish.

If you are reading this and are unsure about whether you want to sign up to John’s program or not, I can honestly say John is one of the most humble, truthful and genuine approachable marketers you will ever come across. He is real!

This program is not a get rich quick thing, and success will not happen overnight. You need to be focused and you need to treat this program as if you are studying at school. John teaches you step by step the very basics of how to create a business online. He has a “take you by the hand” approach and helps you every step of the way. In the course were we given videos and checklists of tasks each week that we had to complete. Not only that we were also given access to some fantastic programs for free, however one of the best parts about this program would have to be the forum. Being able to communicate with fellow students was awesome. We have become a little internet family in there and we are all encouraging of each other and will always help each other out. I have met some amazing people that I know I will be friends for life, even if we are half a world away!

In early 2009 I was looking for a way to make an additional income and at the age of 49 I had very few choices left. I had grown up around automobiles and construction when I was a young man. So most of my life I had been good with my hands. I was considered a very good mechanic and welder. I was also pretty darn good with a tape measure and a knife. I had grown up in a rural area of Michigan so hunting, fishing and self preservation were in the mix of interests to a young country boy and his friends. Yep…That is where my roots are!

My first real employment was welding positions. Then I worked to obtain my builders license and opened my own construction company. I really never did like working for someone else. I told you this bit of background to allow you to see that if you have a dream… it does not matter where you came from.

I had gotten a roofing job for my construction business last fall and almost fell off of the very high 2 story roof. It was a close call. It made me realize that I was not as young as I once was and I was not going to be able to do this any longer. I had to make a career choice again.

I had always been a very hard worker but mostly using my hands. I thought about some of the other talents that I had and knew that I loved to create things. I am a pretty good artist…so I’m told. I have dabbled with oils, charcoals, pencil, acrylics and have created some very nice drawings and paintings since high school. I loved to create things and use my imagination.

I also had to consider that I was once a very good sales man and had even won a trip to the Bahama’s for making top salesman Nation Wide for a mobile home company. How could I use these qualities to begin again at the age of almost 50 yrs. old and start over once more.

I don’t even remember how it all started really, but I do think that GOD gives opportunity to those who are willing to open the doors he places in front of them. I do remember reading a blog from one of John Thornhill’s first students. Her name is Vickie Sayce. She was describing a class that she had taken on her blog and had links to another person that was eventually the one that helped pull back the edge that allowed me to make a decision to go ahead with the Master Class Program and start a new career in the Internet Marketing realm. Her name was Tracey Edwards.Tracey and Vickie had what I wanted. They had created an online business with the help of John Thornhill’s Master Class Training.

I am a man of conviction and once I make a choice I take it to the end. And as you can tell from my experiences..I NEVER FAIL! and I was not going to fail at this either. I knew that all I had to do was to take the training seriously and grab on to it like it was my last lifeline and hold on tight, using everything that I had and I would come out the other side a changed man with a new career.

Let me tell you this before I tell you what happened…When I started John’s class I knew nothing about computers. I mean nothing! I had used my kids computer for playing solitaire. I was an absolute computer ILLITERATE!

John’s class started off with the basics and explained everything in video…step by step. I also had the advantage of learning different things I did not know from the other Master Class students that had been doing Internet Marketing to various degrees on there own for some time.(that made me feel like I was in the right place and with the right mentor)After all, what were people flocking to this Class for anyway if they had been marketing a while already. Then the light went off…It was because John knows what he is doing…that’s why. It was at that moment I realized, that if I applied myself and paid close attention I would get that dream of a new career and my life would be different.

Today I am on my way to becoming even more than I had dreamed. I am about to launch my 15th website and I am working with people from all over the world. Most of which are students that I had the awesome opportunity to meet while taking the Master Class. I now work with 2 people from the UK. (Gordon and Chris) I have a couple of friends from Australia (Jacinta and Art) And many here in the states. (I am from the USA) We are all working together and helping one another while along the way, not just building business ventures with one another, but real friendships.

HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION>> Do I think the John Thornhill Master Class is worth the price?

I am a very straight forward person, so I like to get to the nuts and bolts of things rather quickly. I got EVERY SINGLE cent that I invested into the program back already…PLUS SOME! And it hasn’t been 2 months since we’ve finished the Master Class training. I have made some great friends and created myself an awesome new career that I love. Yes I say “I DID IT”, because I did all of the work, but I surely had the right guy showing me how to get it done. I am very pleased and very proud to say…If Mr John Thornhill from the United Kingdom can take an absolute computer “illiterate” person with a dream (Like Me) and help him build an Internet income within 1 yr…Then he can do it for you too!

I’m sure you’ve all heard this before, but I will add to the advice anyway as it is important.
Article Marketing helps your website or blog get indexed in the search engines.

There are many SEO techniques that can help get your website noticed and ranked in the search engines, but some are difficult or take time to perfect. There is also the fact that search engines can constantly modify rules which means you need to keep on top of the changes.

However one good SEO technique that doesn’t change is getting links to your website from other websites.
Article marketing is one of the best ways of doing this.

For a start it is a genuinely liked method as far as the search engines are concerned as they are trying to encourage good information to get posted on the web for other people to read. That is after all one of the main points about the web, it is all about seeking and providing information.

Good well written articles are exactly what is wanted. The side benefit of this is that if the articles are posted widely on article marketing sites, they will be widely read and via the resource box at the bottom of the article, they provide a link back to your site. The more articles you write, and the wider the distribution, the more links back to your site.

I see the benefit of this when I check my sites in Google’s Webmaster Tools
I can see the links back to my sites that have come from articles.

Of course blogs have a similar benefit because natural links result from posts and replies to the blog where web url’s are in the posts. Plus you can also use a blog link in the resource box of articles that you post to article marketing sites which will boost your blog ranking further.

The problem with articles is the writing of them. I can write articles ok if I put my mind to it but it is time consuming so getting well written articles from other sources and changing them enough from the original to use yourself is one good way to have a good supply. You can save time by using what they call ‘article spinners’ to change the articles.

So, you need a source of articles that is well written. The one I am currently using is called:
Article Underground
21 day trial is only $9.95 and articles are very well written, unlike many I have tried where I’ve had to nearly completely re-write due to poor grammar and spelling.

The other tool I can recommend to save a lot of time is:
Mass Article Control
This comes with 2 different software programs, one creates many articles from just one, ideal to enable you to post different variations to different sites for instance. The other submits the articles to many different articles sites. the thing about the software is that it makes things easy for you but you do remain in full control of it. You can see which sites you’re submitting to and select the ones you want easily. With the article creation tool you can paste in whatever article you want and highlight phrases or words to change, keeping in control at all times. I’ve used a few different tools but this is the best and easiest I have tried and is my current preferred tool.

Regardless of whether you decide to invest in tools to help you, article marketing is definitely something you want to be doing if you have websites you’re trying to promote.
