Mobile Monopoly – Internet Marketing Hype Alive and Well!
I am ashamed of myself, fell for the Mobile Monopoly hype! I got caught again and cannot believe it. I have been wondering whether to look into mobile marketing for a while, after all I own and use a smart phone myself and am aware that mobile internet is taking off in a huge way. However I still cannot believe I got sucked into another follow up offer page hype. I’ll warn you, this is a slight rant, but I do feel strongly. The latest product called Mobile Monopoly has been hyped and emailed to just about every list going so I have seen it several times. I finally decided to have a look at the sales page for Mobile Monopoly and at $77 after a bit of internal debate thought it may just be worth a look and ok I knew there would be some sort of follow up offer page but to then be greeted with a page saying that it needed hundreds of dollars spent on mobile web page creation unless I took the follow up offer, well I blew my top and requested a refund without even looking at the product.
If anyone has better experience of Mobile Monopoly and has actually got past the follow up or has taken both options and thinks it worthwhile then fair enough and I would be interested with your comments, but I’m afraid this particular marketer has lost me forever. Just too much hype to be greeted with that on the follow up page.
Good luck to anyone delving into mobile marketing, I may join you later but not with Mobile Monopoly.
Cheers
Dave

Thanks for the warning, Dave. It’s always good to hear ‘real’ experiences of products, instead of the pre-written stuff the marketers release.
Enjoy the journey.

got hit by a lot of spam for that course. be interesting to see if anyone else has any views on it
Hey Dave,
I actually received a ton of emails from affiliates promothing this very product and got as far as the sales page, watched all the videos and testimonials and thought to myself ”wow this sounds to good to be true” and when I say this to myself I usually snap back to reality and think , well it most probably is then.
I am quite thankful that I didnt actually purchase this time around mainly due to the fact that I have far too many projects up in the air already otherwise I probably would have purchased and I think it’s great when honest people like yourself tell us about your experiences as it helps us ot make an informed decision that isn’t based purly on hype.
I personally hate this type of ”hype marketing” because you really do feel conned when they tell you that their latest product will solve all your problems for a small price of ‘x amount’ and then go on to contradict themselves on the OTO page after you have purchased where they tell you that you will now need to invest a further few hudred dollars to make their ‘miracle’ product actually work.
I have no problems with OTO’s but they must benefit the consumer in a way that can enhance on the initial purchase as opposed to being the missing part of the original offer.
Thanks again for your views Dave, it has also made me think twice about some of the affilites who promoted it to me (I Seriously doubt most of them even reviewed the product before hitting my inbox with the offer).
Kind regards,
Steve Wilkins.

Hello Steve,
Thanks for visiting and your comments, like you I’m actually too busy to look into the product really but got sucked in. The daft thing is it is probably a good product that the vendor has worked hard on and if they hadn’t hyped up the OTO to the extent of making me think I’d bought a turkey I wouldn’t have had a problem, just parked it until I needed it. It’s the first time I’ve ever asked for a refund (the refund came through fine by the way so no problem there). Its a shame, a bit too much hype has spoilt what is probably a good useful product.
I agree with you in that an OTO should be standalone or enhance what you have already bought. The OTO in this offer may have enhanced the original product but to market it as almost essential and suggest without it it would require a huge extra outlay really killed it for me.
I guess when the time comes I’ll just have to investigate mobile internet myself.
Good luck
Cheers
Dave
